Policy on Scheduling Additional Mandatory Course Activity (Approved February 22, 2017)

The College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters is committed to maintaining the integrity of scheduled class times and to ensuring that student schedules remain free of conflicts resulting from faculty actions/decisions. To ensure the integrity of the scheduling process and to mitigate against potential conflicts in students’ schedules, the following policy, created by the college’s Executive Committee, applies to all CASL courses.

POLICY:

Faculty members requiring students enrolled in their classes to participate in any mandatory course activity(including exams)outside of the course’s regularly scheduled meeting times, must make an alternative arrangement for any student unable to participate in such an activity due to a conflict with the student’s existing course schedule. It is the responsibility of the student to provide classroom instructors with evidence of any such conflict.
