Grades and Grading Processes

Final grades are submitted through Faculty Grade Entry. Requirements to utilize web grading include a uniqname login and assignment as course Primary Instructor.

Grade Processes

Grade Change

  • Submitted grades are rolled at 3:00 p.m. daily. Once a grade is rolled, grade changes must be made using the .
  • After end of term grading has ended, late grade submissions or grade changes must be made using the .

I and X Grades

The deadlines for completion of I (Incomplete) and X (Missed Final Exam) grades will be established by the academic unit owning the course, not the individual student’s academic unit. Both the I and the X remain permanently on the transcript. The  can be sent to the Office of the Registrar at [email protected].

Incomplete (I) grades

A student whose coursework for the term (other than final examination) is incomplete in a minor way may be granted the privilege of completing the work within a five-week period beginning on the first day of classes of the immediately following term. An  is required for Incomplete (I) grades. The Incomplete Contract Form should be filled out by both the student and instructor. Once completed, the Incomplete Contract should be forwarded to the Registrar's Office ([email protected]).

The instructor must record the I grade for the appropriate student(s) when submitting final grades via Faculty Grade Entry. Once the I grade is posted to the student(s)' academic record, the Registrar's Office will manually add the Incomplete deadline date specified on the contract.

X Grades

A student who is unavoidably absent from a final examination may be granted the privilege of making up the examination within five weeks beginning from the first day of classes of the immediately following term. The X grade does not require a contract and can be assigned when submitting the final grades.
