Biography and Education

Julie Anne Taylor earned her PhD degree in history from the University of Cambridge.  As a professor at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, Dr. Taylor conducts research on history education, intercultural education, medieval history, and arts integration. Certified to teach social science, she led enrichment programming in history, art, and culture at a public secondary school in Detroit for over eight years.  Dr. Taylor is a recipient of the University of Michigan鈥檚 Distinguished Teaching Award.  She serves on the editorial boards of national and international journals, including Teaching History: A Journal of Methods.  Dr. Taylor is the author of the book, Muslims in Medieval Italy: The Colony at Lucera.
