Regents Communications

The University of Michigan is governed by the , which consists of eight members elected at large in biennial statewide elections. The president of the University serves as an ex officio member of the board.

The Bylaws of the Regents of the University of Michigan and certain Regental policies require that the Regents approve many types of proposals, decisions, appointments, etc. The following are types of Regents Communications:

  1. Non-Instructional Agenda Items (i.e. academic calendars, degree proposals, executive committee appointments)
  2. Instructional and/or Academic Administrative Appointments and Changes
  3. Memoirs and Memorials ( here. Note: As requested by Ann Arbor, Memoirs should be included in the Regents meeting the month the faculty member is retiring. For preparation, Memoirs should be written prior to the retirement date and should include a recent CV.)
